Band nerds down! Band nerds down!

I literally can not stop laughing at this. This video single handily brightened my Monday and made me forget about my 8am calculus class this morning. If laughing at this is wrong, well then I don’t want to be right.

I really didn’t want to post this, simply because I’m an undergraduate at USF. And to be honest,  our football team is incomprehensibly pathetic. To be fair, this punt sums up our season beautifully and to a tee.

I honestly think I need to go ask our coach for an open tryout. Not being cocky, but I can punt a football 50 yards. That alone has to be good enough for backup punter right?

Absolutely Massive Rugby Hit

STICCCKKDid that guy just absolutely crush his own teammate? Ya I think he did, although I could be wrong. It would help just a tad if the two teams weren’t wearing the same exact fucking jersey though. Like are they serious here? Both teams HAD to wear bumblebee jerseys? No other alternatives? Get your shit together rugby.

But in all seriousness, what an absolutely massive hit. There are two things for certain that came out of this;

1) That, that bro no doubt has the worst case of whip lash known to man.

2) And Roger Goodell already fined that guy 50k. Probably even handed him a suspension too.

Long time no blog, I know, it’s called taking 16 credits, read about it.

In any case, the other night an ‘incident’, as I would like to call it took place at Turner Field. Some might call it a brawl, some might call it a donnybrook and by baseball standards it was nearly a UFC match, however, for now I’ll simply call it an” incident”.

Now listen, I know there are these so called “un-written” rules in baseball, which have been around since the dawn of baseballs conception, I get that. But hey, wake the fuck up, this isn’t the early 1900’s when baseball was the crown jewel of sports, we are in a different word, a different generation if you will. Out go the “un-written” rules that have been in place for decades upon decades. We are in a whole new breed of baseball, whether you want to like it or not.

So yes, while Carlos Gomez, technically crossed the imaginary red line and broke the “un-written” rules, with the exaggerated bat flip and the staring down the HR and whatnot, but who gives a shit? Honestly, are we still in kindergarten? Do we have to throw a hissy fit every time some insults us? Because that’s exactly what the Braves did. They threw a hissy fit. They had their feelings hurt, and threw a 3rd grade tantrum.

Am I gonna sit here and condone Gomez’s actions? No, but I’m certainly not going to condone those of the Braves players. Sure a couple chirps at Gomez while he trotted around the bases would have been fine, but catcher Brian McCann took it a step to far. Absolutely zero need for him to get in Gomez’s face, especially in the first inning of a what was then a 0-0 meaningless game (Braves already have clinched a playoff spot). That being said, I 100% understand where McCann is coming from, it’s called sticking up for your team, but there are other ways to go about it.

And since we have been talking about “un-written” rules, you want to know what should have happened, how it all should have gone down? Next time Gomez steps to the plate, first pitch is a fastball on the numbers. That’s old school baseball, that’s how you solve your problems on the diamond, not by throwing some tantrum, some hissy fit. If you want to play old school baseball, by the old school rules, then play it on both ends, not just theirs.

So obviously anyone who pays a smidge of attention to hockey, knows that Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks is unreal with his mitts. We have seen him countless times shake and bake the opposing players before (see examples 1 and 2).

But now , courtesy of Bauer Vapor and YouTube, we get a first hand look of Kane’s nasty stick handling at an unreal level. In two words; Fucking Ahhhmazing

P.S. Why has no one stuck a GoPro to the shaft of a hockey stick yet? That would be some Golden Globe/Oscar winning footage right there. Am I a genius or am I a genius?

Hey can’t hate the apology, just doing what they have to do. I’d be pissed if I was forced to watch the shit show that is the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders, so an apology is the least they could do.

It must absolutely suck to be an Orlando football fan. Just having to go into each week uncertain if you will get a Jaguars game, Bucs game or a Miami game, of which all 3 teams are no bueno.

P.S. You know your team (Jacksonville Jaguars) is exceptionally bad, when they are staging a “sign Tim Tebow” protest.

At least 12 people were killed Monday after a shooting rampage at the Naval Sea Systems Command on the grounds of the Navy Yard this morning in Washington, officials said.

One gunman is dead, said Washington D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier. There are potentially two other shooters at large — two men, one white and one black, both in their 40s or 50s and believed to be wearing military-style clothing, she said.

Lanier said police do not know what the motive for the shootings might be. She declined to provide any details about the dead gunman.

The FBI is leading the investigation, Lanier said.

The Navy said shots were first fired around 8:20 a.m. at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters, where about 3,000 people work.

“We’re confronting yet another mass shooting,” President Obama said prior to an event on the economy. “We will do everything in our power to make sure whoever carried out this cowardly act is held responsible.”

Obama said of the victims: “They know the dangers of serving abroad, today they faced the unimaginable violence that they wouldn’t have expected here at home.”

“We send our thoughts and prayers to all at the Navy Yard who’ve been touched by this tragedy,” he said.

Police and federal agents from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene, and streets in the area were closed. The Navy Yard is located in southeast Washington on the Anacostia River. Nine area schools are in lockdown.

Three people are in a critical condition at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, said Janis M. Orlowski, chief medical officer.

The Associated Press quoted eyewitnesses saying that a gunman was shooting from a fourth floor overlook down at people in the building’s cafeteria on the first floor.

Family members looking for information about their loved ones can call 202-433-6151 or 202-433-9713.

What we know so far:

Washington (CNN) — A gunman dressed in all black fired shots Monday inside the U.S. Navy Yard, injuring at least 10 people, according to the Navy and a Washington police spokesman. The U.S. Navy tweeted there are “several confirmed injuries with reports of fatalities.” The injured included a Washington police officer who has been hospitalized, and a base security guard officer, said Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Saray Leon. The incident occurred at 8:20 a.m. when several shots were fired inside the headquarters for Naval Sea Systems Command in southeast Washington. An “active shooter” remained inside the building, the Navy said. Police spokesman Chris Kelly described the suspect as an adult male, about 6 feet tall with a bald head and medium complexion, dressed in a black top and black jeans.

UPI – South Korea has granted permits to GDS Architects to build the world’s first “invisible” tower near the Incheon International Airport just outside of Seoul. Tower Infinity won’t be the tallest skyscraper in the world, but it will have an innovative LED projector and camera system that will use real-time images to “cloak” the building. Tower Infinity will reach 450 meters (1,476 feet) and have the third highest observation deck in the world with a view of planes flying in and out of Incheon. The GDS website says the tower will set itself apart “by celebrating the global community rather than focusing on itself.” ”The tower subtly demonstrates Korea’s rising position in the world by establishing its most powerful presence through diminishing its presence. Korea will have a unique position of having the ‘best’ tower by having an ‘anti-tower’.“ Though the building’s purpose is to showcase innovative Korean technology, when completed, Tower Infinity is expected to be the sixth-highest tower in the world.

invisi-towerHold the phone. Hold the damn phone! South Korea wants to build what? A freakin’ invisible skyscraper? I literally can not wrap my head around any part of this whole invisible skyscraper jargon. I can’t be the only one can I?

First and foremost, isn’t the whole purpose of a skyscraper to be seen from around the metro, an icon of the region or city if you will? Like look at every famous skyscraper around the world, from New York City to Dubai to Hong Kong to Brisbane, each and everyone of those cities have a landmark skyscraper and guess what? They arn’t fucking invisible. So legitimate question here, what the hell is the purpose of a invisible skyscraper?

Secondly, aside from not having the slightest clue as to how it’s even remotely possible to create an invisible building in the first place, how exactly does this whole process work anyhow? So at night it becomes invisible, I kinda get that, but then what happens to the people inside cooking rice and watching Pokemon? They become invisible too? Or are they just there for all of Seoul to see?

I’m not even going to touch on the fact that they proposed to have this be built by a damn airport. Because we all know that invisible buildings and airports and plans that fly in the sky belong together. What idiots.

What an idiot! I’m no mascot expert, but as a mascot you literally have only one job and that job is to show up in a damn costume to every game. Nothing more, nothing less. If you can’t even do that correctly, you might as well hang up your mascot costume and call it quits.

Also, does this mascot have like a contract or something? Like what’s the big deal if the man behind the costume misses the flight? Just search the streets of Lubbock or find some drunk kid at the tailgate, throw him a Jackson ($20) and have him suit up in the ol’ Horned Frog. So the routine might be a bit different, who cares, variety is always a good thing.
