Boom! Straight cuckold city from this fan. Might be the GOAT when it comes to fan. Just a stone cold face. Gotta keep your head on a swivel if you are gonna get romrodded into the stands at the United Center. It’s like being throwing into a pack of hyenas.

P.S. Only a girl would dump their expensive 12oz beer on a player.

So obviously anyone who pays a smidge of attention to hockey, knows that Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks is unreal with his mitts. We have seen him countless times shake and bake the opposing players before (see examples 1 and 2).

But now , courtesy of Bauer Vapor and YouTube, we get a first hand look of Kane’s nasty stick handling at an unreal level. In two words; Fucking Ahhhmazing

P.S. Why has no one stuck a GoPro to the shaft of a hockey stick yet? That would be some Golden Globe/Oscar winning footage right there. Am I a genius or am I a genius?

Slightly confusing title, but the point of this blog has to do with the whole Boston Strong motto or phrase, that has been used widely ever since the Boston Marathon Bombings. I’ll preface it by saying this is solely my opinion and my opinion does not reflect the opinions of our other writers here at Benchwamer Sports.

Recently, Chubby Tee’s, a T-shirt and apparel company based out of Chicago, IL, has received a pouring of public outcry, regarding one of their recently released shirts, using the “Boston Strong” phrase, but changing it to Chicago Stronger, with part of the Chicago Blackhawks logo on the shirt as well. It looks like this:

The public outcry that followed the release of this shirt, caused Chubby Tees to immediately issue an apology and pull the shirts from their website.

Now, onto my opinion. Most may not agree with me, and that’s fine, that’s the reason why debates were created and why each and every person is entitled to their own opinion. If I am being totally honest here, I have zero problems with these t-shirts, or people/companies using the phrase and adding their own spin on it, zero qualms whatsoever in that department.

It should be noted, that I fully realize the Boston Marathon Bombings and the tragedy that is the bombings should not be something that is turned into a joke or downplayed. What people may or may not see, is I actually have a lot of friends who go to school in the greater Boston area and were there near the finish line and along the route the day of the Bombings. I have friends that ran in the Marathon that day and friends who ran in the Marathon previously. I have friends who live in Boston and some who were directly affected by the faithful day. So before anyone starts to bash me, note that beforehand. It’s not like I am some West Coast Elitist that is out of touch with reality, I’m fully aware of the reality and magnitude and gravity of the situation at hand.

However, that being said, I think the whole issue is being way over blown and being distorted. First, it should be mentioned, that the ‘Boston Strong’ phrase came from a couple of Emerson College Students. Who are we to dictate how the phrase is used and by who? Shouldn’t it be them, the creators of the phrase, the ones to dictate the use of it? If they had came out and either copyrighted it and/or voiced publicly that they did not want the phrase used in such a way, that it makes light of the tragedy in Boston, then it would be a completely different story. Because they did not, it’s all fair and game as to who uses the slogan and for what reasons they deem to choose.

What’s astonishing, or what I find astonishing, is that ‘Boston Strong’, the phrase, was turned into a for-profit business scheme less than a full day after the Bombings by many companies across the country. That’s something I do not agree with, however, everyone else seems to think that is okay? Companies that are not even from Boston, not even on the East Coast making and selling shirts using the “Boston Strong” phrase and selling them purely for profit, with no intentions on donating any proceeds to the victims. To me that is extremely ironic and deplorable. People seem to have no problem with companies and entrepreneurs profiting off of tragedies, but get bent out of shape when the phrase is misused and believe that is making a mockery out of the Bombings.

What would people say, if shirts were made using the phrase “Army Stronger”? Or “Marines Stronger”? Would people still get all upset over it? Army Strong has already been around for to many years to count, so would using ‘Army Stronger’ have the same effect on people, as “Chicago Stronger”? Or is some level of bias and “cityism” coupled with the Boston Bruins vs. Chicago Blackhawks playoff series, turning this into a bigger deal than it should be?

Of course there is A LOT of critics out there and rightfully so, their points are extremely valid. However, most likely, they are either from Boston and/or are a fan of the Boston Bruins, so there again is this cityism or bias idea popping up again.

You want to know what is despicable? This asshole who made this jersey and posted it on Twitter.

Now that’s something to be worked up over. Now that’s making a mockery of the Boston Bombings. Everybody needs to be ripping this guy a new asshole, and needed to be ripping it yesterday.

Thoughts on this matter? Is things like “Chicago Stronger” and “Toronto Stronger” making a mockery out of the tragedy in Boston? Or does you have no real problems with the whole idea of it? What are your thoughts on companies making pure profit off of “Boston Strong” shirts and not donating a lick of the profits to the OneFun charity for Marathon victims. Any and all thoughts are welcomed. Whether you now hate me is also you opinion and welcomed just as much.

I’ll preface it by saying, that these t-shirts being printed and made into reality is solely dependent on IF the Boston Bruins win the cup. Being the professional bloggers we are, we know our market and it’s respective demographics, we know we must cater to our market and if the people are going to want Bruins shirts, we are going to give them Bruins shirts. That’s just how professionals run things. Economics 101.

Now if Chicago wins, well then it would be a huge waste of time, however, wouldn’t be the first time I have wasted a ton of time before.

So without further ado, rate these shirts! Give us feedback, we love constructive criticism.

Right in Pierre McGuire’s face, I love it. Pierre probably didn’t even know what hit him, probably still doesn’t. And c’mon Pierre, no one cares what was being discussed in the dressing room between OT’s, you seriously had to ask that question? Your interview game Pierre, makes my interview game look flawless. Just stick to being stuck inside the glass, were you belong, preferably with no microphone.

I know you probably know this already, unless you only watch ESPN then I guess you don’t know, but Chicago outlasted Boston through three overtimes to take control of the series. In a remix of the presidential race (Obama is from Chicago Romster from Mass) the team from Chi Town pulled out the victory (four more years) and they did so with grit and tenacity.

I could break down the whole game, but seriously, you wouldn’t read it, this link has all the highlights, so if you’ve got like 15 minutes give it a watch. What I will say in this post is this series is going to be great. Both teams fought hard (cliche I know) for all 112 minutes, at one point I don’t think they even wanted to score. What really surprised me was how Chicago didn’t give up. Like I don’t know if they just blast Kanye West’s Stronger or what, but down 2-0 early they fought hard, and a little luck from the hockey God’s there in the third and they were ready to go in OT.

Plus who else saw Hossa put Kelly down in the 2nd OT, Hossa honestly looked like a giant huge scary man, he just ate his lunch and then skated away. Sidenote here, but best analogy I heard was likening Andrew Shaw to a second grader and Zdeno Chara to a 6th grader on the playground. Shaw will just be a pain and annoy Chara but we all know Chara won’t do anything…keep being that annoying little prick Shaw, it’s working well.

Leave a comment, let me know your thoughts, maybe I’ll put the best comments in a blog post and you’ll be like mildly famous.

Bruins verus Blackhawks game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals begins tonight, in what should be a series for the ages. All biases aside, there is no clear cut winner here, no team has a huge advantage. It’s basically a pick ’em for who wins. This series is going to at least 6 games, most likely 7 games, that’s a fact.

So the question is who and how do you pick the winner for the 2013 Stanley Cup? Well I think the only logical way to go about this is by playoff hair, including facial hair.

So I have set the match up as follows; Patrick Kane of the Blackhawks and his mullet versus Jaromír Jágr of the Bruins and his mustache/facial hair, whoever you pick, is your pick to win the Cup.

Jaromír Jágr:

So who you got?

Here is what it says for all of you, who are unable to read 6pt font:

Hey Hawks fans, I have a pair of tickets for game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday at the UC. Got them from a client at the investment firm where I work. I cant make the game and I can’t sell the tickets without getting a potential fine from the SEC. Shitty, I know.
No offense, I make a ton of money anyway. Sorry.

Anybody want these tickets? No cost, just service or item needed. I am single guy living the life. Do you have enough creativity to take these tickets off my hands? Make a video, send me an offer to meet, whatever works. Do not be shy. Let me know ASAP. Best offer gets the tickets. And keep in mind, I go cage diving with sharks, I am not impressed easily.
Email me your offer.

First of all, throwing out how much money you have and that it’s a “ton” is dick move, I have zero respect for people that brag about their money. That aside, 4th row behind the nights for the NHL Stanley Cup Finals, for essentially free, is an absolute goldmine. I mean, sure he just wants to see a little skin or a video perhaps, can’t hate him for trying. That said, you know there is going to be plenty of females out there submitting their own pictures and videos for that chance to get these amazing tickets. My only question is, do you have to go to this guys house to collect them? Rich or not, having to go to this guys house would be a deal breaker. Last thing I want is some Disturbia shit all up in my face, when I just want to see the Hawks.

And for the record I sent him a nice little video of me eating goldfish in the shower. No way he can refuse that, no way. If he replies, you’ll see it first, here at BWsports. Now go follow us on Twitta.

I have been literally trying to get a GIF of this to work ever since it happened. Made my own GIF, downloaded it, then uploaded it the whole nine yards. And for some odd reason, all of a sudden the GIF’s are not uploading properly. I’m geeking out over this. Beyond rattled. I’m pretty sure I lost some sleep over this damn GIF. Was going to call my IT department, but then realized we don’t have an IT department, or any department for that matter.

In any case, enough with my rant. When I initially saw this, I was like “ohh shit”. To be honest it looked 10 times worse on live TV in full speed, almost has if it was intentional. But as the replays started flowing in and the slow-mo’s were being shown, anyone not blind, clearly saw it was not intentional whatsoever.

Keith was visually ‘shaken up’ over the incident and rightfully so, what was supposed to be a stick check to the lower body or mid section, caught Carter in the face. Just flat out bad luck, plain and simple. Duncan Keith, like the man that he is, showed some real sportsmanship after this incident and told Carter multiple times throughout the night, that he was sorry.

Unfortunately, for Keith’s sake here, he will undoubtedly get a 1-game suspension out of this, accident or no accident. And if no suspension is dropped on Keith, I am be in complete shock.

The past two game sevens the NHL has had, shows why the hockey playoffs are better than any others.  If you didn’t watch the game then you probably won’t see highlights of it on sports center because they show as much coverage of the NHL as Middle Eastern women shows skin.

If you aren’t that privy on other cultures that means none.

Detroit dominated for most of the game except for one bad change they otherwise played a really solid game.  Through out the game there was a lot of physical play  which makes hockey what it is. Maybe not a lot of fights but some big hits that set the tone for the hockey game.  A low scoring game seven with both goalies playing good, it can’t be beat.

So one of the most controversial plays in the game came late in the third where the Blackhawks looked to go up by a goal but was waved off because of the penalty behind the play.  I am totally fine with this call yes of course Blackhawks fan are going to complain if they didn’t score in OT, they probably will still complain but boo hoo.  They won get over it.

This whole series was a great one, with Blackhawks on the brink of elimination they battled back and won a series that they deserved to win in the first place.

So now the Western Conference and Eastern Conference finals are set. The  Penguins will roll the the bruins with there overwhelming offence and the Kings will upset the Blackhawks behind Quicks unreal performance thus far.  Don’t believe me just watch, I haven’t made a wrong pick yet, this is also my first time picking but thats besides the fact.
