British Open (recap)

First of all I am not gonna toot my own horn… oh wait yes I am, did I pick the winner… yes, might I be the the smartest man alive… yes. Even Gonzo didn’t have any smart ass comments when phil won.

By the way I am not knocking the putt phil made on 18 but the celebration of the putt was weak.  If that was me I would of fist pumped so hard I would of knocked out my caddie.  if we were to give out grades A+ for his final round of 66 but a D- for his celebration.

Any who this was a spectacular major to watch, unfortunately for Lee Westwood he was on the wrong end of the stick.  This guy is on the top of the list of people who deserve to win major and had plenty of opportunities to win.

Also tiger with another lack luster performance over the weekend of a major, and then  there is rory poor rory cant find his game.  Well at least he gets to go home and bang his hot girlfriend on the mountain of cash he got for his nike deal.

Fucking Brits man, can’t even go out in public without making a complete mockery of themselves. If it was just the Tiger, I would totally understand and fully support it. But a God damn Elephant and Eagle? Give me a break with that shit, what do you think this is? The zoo? Keep your sexual fantasies at home, you damn savages.

P.S. I see you Eagle Man, with your sweatshirt wrapped around your waist. Loser city, population Eagle Man.

Just letting everyone know how my picks were doing, Tiger woods, Phil Mickelson, and Jordan Spieth are all tied at -2 three behind the leader, Ernie Els is at +3 and Helen Kell…… I mean Rory Mcilroy is at +8.  So not off to a bad start, but I will keep you guys all up to date since you obviously wanna know.

The British Open Picks

The British Open, what is there to say.  It is the oldest and most historic golf tournament in the world.  It presents a whole new world of what golf courses look and play like, compared to the normal course over here in the states.

So like I did before I will start out with two contenders that have a good shot at winning it.

Rory Mcilroy :  Yes I know that he has struggled as of late and that I wrote him off in my picks for the U.S Open, but this is different this is the British Open.  These are the courses he grew up playing so if he has any chance to win a major this year this is the one.

Tiger Woods:  Yes I know I must be crazy for not picking tiger, but come on I can’t pick him for every tournament or else I would be like every other dumb golf fan.  But let’s be honest if you don’t either pick tiger to win or at least have him as being one of your favorites you are dumb… Any who what else can I say he’s tiger he is godly and yes he struggled here in 02′ but still he is playing great this year regardless of the last major.

Now here are some guys who will be flying under the radar but still have a good shot at winning it all.

Jordan Spieth- Yes I know he is 19, and yes I know he just won his first tournament, but this kid is good.  A lot of confidence in his game, and just a silky smooth swing.  Seems like a great guy and winning that last tournament should give a lot of confidence to win a big tournament.

Ernie Els- Last time the open was at murfield he won, he won last years open too.  Also his nickname is the big easy… ya that’s all you need to know.

Can I get a drum roll please….. no ok well here is my pick to win the open.

Phil Mickelson –  No I don’t like Phil and yes I am picking him.  One because he just barley won the Scottish open and also hes played really well in every major.  Also with how he lost the last major he is due.

Well let us know your picks would love to hear it.

See what I did with the title there, pure comedic goal, I know you don’t have to tell me I am funny.

If you didn’t catch this gold piece of TV I can understand why since I was probably one of the few that watch last weeks PGA tour event.  But since I watched it and you didn’t, na-na na-na boo boo stick your head in doo doo. So just to set you guys up with the situation bubba found himself in.  So coming down the stretch bubba was in the lead by two strokes when he arrived at the par 3 16th where is caddy advised him to use 9 iron and as you can see it didn’t go over well, he went on to lose the tournament.

For one total dick move I understand that your caddy gives you all the advice and all the information to hit your shot but it all comes down to you hitting the shot, no one else.  Yes I get why he blames the caddy, a golfer doesn’t ever wanna take blame for a bad shot because then they will doubt themselves and that leads to them playing bad.

But come on man it isn’t the caddys fault even though he took blame for it after the round.  All in all Bubba is a good guy and is very emotional, unfortunately  his emotions got the best of him just like every other human being.

RoryBendsClub_originalI agree with his assertion that Merion was a frustrating course, no question about that and like humans that we are, we eventually have to release some of that built up frustration and anger and sometimes that means attempting to snap your 9 iron in half. Happens to the best of us.

That being said, I feel like if you are going to attempt to snap your club in half on live TV, then I think you have to actually snap it in half, no half fasting it, right? I don’t care how long it takes to snap it in half, you have to fully commit to the challenge, going 50% is no bueno in my book. If you are a quitter when it comes to snapping your club, then you are going to be a quitter on the course as well. Never leave anything in the gas tank, 110% effort all the time, no excuses.

I’d be more embarrassed that I couldn’t snap a club in half, brutal. McIlroy, pull your shit together man!

First of all, what a great U.S Open to watch, great golf course, great players, and great drama. The only bad part is Phil coming in 2nd for the 6th time, which is just heart breaking, but I digress.

So in the final round at the Open, Luke is on the long par 3 3rd, which for one he is hitting fucking driver on.  Seriously, I mean I understand he isn’t the longest hitter out there, but a pro hitting driving on a par 3 is unreal.

And how about the fan who got hit by an errant ball?! It isn’t even a fan who paid to go there, it was a person to volunteered out of their own goodwill to help out at the tournament, and how does the tournament repay her? A concussion? Obviously he didn’t mean to do it and is visually shaken up by hitting her, I don’t who I feel worse for Luke or the girl, I mean obviously if the girl is seriously injured there’s no doubt I feel worse for her but I am not sure if she is.  But if she isn’t then I feel bad for Luke because he was in contention and after he hit this girl he was out of it.  It messed up his whole focus and he just struggled.

This is hilarious, it looks like something coming out of a weekend of golf with Gonzo.  It would of been better if he actually swung at it and missed it.

All in all great Major, can’t wait till the next one.

Screen-Shot-2013-06-16-at-12.01.54-PMEyeTVSnapshot1110! Straight 10! Love the his pants game, so much swag with these octopus pants, I almost can’t take it. Maybe this is why my golf game is unbearable to watch most of the time, scratch that, all the time. It’s because I don’t have a pair of these octopi pants, how stupid of me. Clean it up Gonzo. Huge question here, do those octopi glow in the dark? They look like they do, that would be super impressive, not going to lie.

No comment on the mirror pic selfie…

-Gonzo

Not going to lie, I got a good chuckle out of this. Is this the right time and place for such a joke? No, probably not, but regardless, I still thought it was humorous. Just proves, that even when Tiger is not around you, he is still technically around you, because golf is to Tiger as Tiger is to golf. So moral of the story, never get into a war of words with Tiger Woods, otherwise people will start yelling Fried Chicken at you, when you are about to tee off.

-Gonzo

What better way to stay loose during a rain delay at the 2013 US Open, then to practice your videobombing skills? To be honest, I can’t think of any better way to stay loose and calm. Keep calm and videobomb on as they say.Sure, Ricky Fowler may be subpar mediocre on the course and Bubba is being Bubba, but their videobombing skills are damn near excellent and I am slightly jealous.
